Dear Sidway Families,

Welcome to a brand-new school year at Charlotte Sidway Elementary School! I hope your summer was filled with opportunities to relax, make memories, and enjoy time together as a family. As we prepare to welcome our students back, I am filled with excitement and optimism for all that the year ahead will bring.

Our school is a special place because of the people who make up our community—our students, families, teachers, support staff, and administrators. Together, we have the opportunity to create a school experience where every child feels valued, supported, safe, and inspired to learn and grow.

At Sidway, we believe that the early elementary years are about so much more than academics. We want our children to develop confidence, curiosity, independence, kindness, and a genuine love of learning. We will encourage our students to take risks, ask questions, solve problems, build friendships, and discover the many wonderful things they are capable of accomplishing.

Please know that our doors are always open, and we welcome your questions, ideas, and collaboration throughout the year. When school and home work together, our children benefit in countless ways.

To our returning families, welcome back! To those joining the Sidway family for the first time, welcome—we are so happy you are here! Whether your child is entering UPK, Kindergarten, or First Grade, we are honored to be part of this important chapter in their journey.

I am looking forward to a year filled with learning, laughter, friendship, growth, and countless moments that remind us why being part of a school community is so special.
